The job being an educator is just like this..
full of emotion roller coaster... ups and downs..
many times.. when u see ur students.. u will be so pleased and happy.. they just made ur day..
many a times.. when they see the workload that you had in hand.. they complain from the very minute.. most children i understand.. dislike work..
partly cos they have already lots of work given by school and parents..
but every child that comes to us is an unpolished gem..
we dun wan to see anybody gives up on him or herself due to laziness.. but their story gets twisted when they go home..
they claim that is boring.. is very difficult.. when they already refuse to start trying from the first minute.. so is that our fault?
some are just too smart or high ego that they cannot accept defeat in every aspect.. but it is important to learn that.. who can guarantee that in your whole life, you will always succeed?
now when the kids are young.. praises have been following them.. them in the limelight.. but as they grows.. scoldings and threatens follow them.. making them think that if they do not do well in everything they do.. they are deem as failures in life..
People might assume that when the kids grow up.. they will learn to cope with failures.. it will be okay.. but why do people commit suicide? cos they cannot take certain failure like being a disgrace to the family, failure to recuperate from a broken relationship..
Nowadays, we keep saying that we should not stress children.. a lot of reports states that our primary school children have been given too much homework and are not able to rest well..
but do they realli investigate to the roots of the problem?
children can enjoy homework-less for 4 days and get all the homework in a single day.. expected to hand up next morning.. is that fair?
i try to allow time for them to finish work in class... but the time they took up complaining is half.. end up cannot complete.. when you see it.. you deem it as i didn't go through with them or the children's usual excuse 'very difficult'.. is that fair?
seriously.. most of the children are very smart.. i'm sure urs is one too.. but is the effort they are willing to put in.. is how much the parent is gg to support the educators and communicate with them.
just like at home.. if mommy is gg to be angry with the child over mistakes he made.. n daddy defense him.. what kinda image would it give him?
